Most mobile storage companies use small plywood units that are only waterproof because you zip a vinyl cover around them. They are small and far from secure. Because they are small, you usually have to get several to fit all your belongings. This makes packing your possessions into the units very difficult and time-consuming.
Of the companies that use larger units, most tilt them as they are pulled up a tilt-bed tow truck. Obviously, this is extremely hazardous because your belongings will shift and fall as the unit is pulled up the steep incline.
There are only a few companies that can move a large storage unit without tilting it. Of these companies, we have the widest units. Many of our competitors claim their units are 8 feet wide when really they are only 7.5 feet wide. Ours are over 8' wide.
Our lift system grabs the units from above, which allows us to make our units wider. This gives our customers up to 55 additional cubic feet. Is this important? It is crucial if the extra space allows the last few pieces to fit inside.
Our units are 8 feet high and 8 feet wide and come in either 12-foot or 16-foot lengths. A 12' unit can fit the contents or a normal one-bedroom apartment. A 16' unit can fit the contents of a normal two-bedroom apartment. Customers with large homes may require more than one unit.
The picture shows a forklift lifting a PSU. This is to help illustrate how the units are built. They rest on pressure treated 4x4's spaced every two feet beneath the unit. This serves two purposes. First it prevents the unit from scratching your driveway. Second, this allows air to pass underneath the unit, which keeps the inside nice and dry.
Our units are completely weatherproof. The units have a steel and aluminum exterior and a "softer" wooden interior. The units have a translucent roof which gives you plenty of light so that you can see what you are doing while inside. They have a roll up door, which you lock with your own padlock. You are the only one who can get into your unit.
